It was a Monster Mash - Halloween Party with Paperless Post

Tis the season!

And no, I'm not talking about the Christmas season.  It's my other favorite...Halloween!

Have you ever heard of Paperless Post?  They are an online marketplace for beautiful invitations and stationery that can be sent straight to the inboxes of your family and friends! It reminds me of back in the day when we used to send ecards through email...
I mean, that's basically what it is, but classier!

Think of brands like kate spade, Rifle Paper Company, Meri Meri, and more.  There are hundreds of beautiful invitations to choose from for your next gathering.

You simply choose the invite that best fits the theme of your party.  You can tailor it to the vibe of your party through envelope color, font choice, and more.

You are charged based on the amount of "coins" needed to sent out the amount of invitations you need.  And it's pretty inexpensive.  Price is determined by the number of add-ons you choose.  Then all you have to do is to use their simple interface to load in all of your contacts, send the invitations, and manage RSVPs.  It's so easy!

I, of course, wanted to take advantage of the fact that Halloween is quickly approaching.  I chose this adorable kate spade invite (figures, right?) and quickly set it up to send to guests.

Simple, chic, and festive!

Thank you, Paperless Post, for sponsoring this post!

I threw together a candy charcuterie board, poison apples, and spiderweb mocktails for an unforgettable Halloween scene.

I hope this inspires you to throw your own Monster Mash this fall!

OOTD: End of Summer Wedding Outfit! (feat. Courtney)

I attended a wedding a couple of weeks ago and wore this purple dress from ASOS.  Somehow, all my accessories just kind of came together in this iridescent mermaidy combo?  They are all pieces I've collected at different times from different places, but they all matched this dress perfectly!

Scuba Embellished Pencil Dress (also comes in TALL, CURVY, and a MATERNITY style): ASOS // Iridescent Pumps (not available, similar here): Dune London // Seashell Clutch (was actually a makeup bag, old, similar seashell purses here and here): Forever 21 // Pink Cluster Drop Earrings (old, similar here and here): Charming Charlie // If I'm correct...Courtney's dress is from Charlotte Russe, but I think it's sold out!

I loved this dress so much (found it through another blogger, Style Sangria!).  I've been wanting something with those embellishments that ASOS does so well for quite some time now.  The color was perfect too!  I'm not typically a purple fan, but this shade specifically IS one of my favorite colors.  And anything with a peplum has me SOLD!

All was well with the dress and it is certainly a showstopper...Except that it didn't fit perfectly.  I did have to get the bust taken in, surprise surprise.  And it was a little longer than I would have liked, also surprise surprise, but it looked cute anyways.  I like how they have it in tall and curvy...but what about petite?! But whatever, sometimes us short people just can't win! I'm 5'2" and this is a size 2, for reference when shopping.  This was the smallest size offered, and although it didn't fit 100% perfectly, I think it was the best fit for me that was available to purchase.  They have a pretty good sizing chart feature on their website.  You get to compare your size from another store and they figure out what the right size for you is from ASOS.  I always use kate spade as my "example" size because I know my sizing there inside and out (from previously working there and trying on EVERYTHING).

As for accessories...  I actually bought these shoes from my former boss because they didn't fit her!  She had bought them for super cheap from Poshmark.  They happened to be literally my exact size, so all was well with the world.

You may recognize the seashell handbag from my Tropical Vacay looks post from last year!  It took me til the day of the wedding to realize that this bag would match so well with the shoes and dress.

The earrings are some oldies from Charming Charlie!  They are so well-loved that they are quite honestly falling apart.  But I'm going to keep on wearing them until they do!
